According to the box score for this game, the Cubs notched their seventh straight win in the early season through an effective start by Jose Guzman, who would get the win. The Cubs bats, meanwhile, lit up Dodgers starter Kevin Gross, who was slapped with the loss.
Derrick May hit a three-run shot for the Cubs, while Sammy Sosa preceded that with a two-run dinger. Guzman’s only mistake of the night, it seems, was allowing a three-run home run to Gross, the opposing pitcher. Whoops.
Attendance was 37,569.
