2001 Tony Gwynn Final Game Ticket Stub
This game was rescheduled due to the September 11 attacks. Fans holding September 16 tickets needed to go the stadium and exchange them for the make up date on October 7. Fans didn’t always receive the same seat locations.
Attendees on October 7 received a full color commemorative ticket (shown) and a lucite holder for the occasion. Many thanks to David Stroup for recounting his memories of that time.
With all the local fanfare celebrating Tony Gwynn’s career, less was made of Rickey Henderson achieving his 3,000th hit that day.
